Telecommunications experts drive down AFC Worldwide Express costs by 16%

AFC Worldwide Express specializes in domestic and inter- national transportation and logistics services. The company operates multiple locations in the U.S. and has a worldwide network of partners. Revenue is approximately $80 million.

In the U.S., AFC used numerous data and telecommunications providers in states throughout the South, Midwest and West. As a result, billing for data (MPLS, IP and managed services), long-distance and local telephone services was confusing.

Experts find discounts and lower rates

Because AFC resources focused on operational expenses, the company asked Consultants with Expense Reduction Analysts (ERA) to validate pricing and services.

By switching some stand-alone long-distance accounts to the company’s master account, ERA telecom experts immediately spotted a way to save $2,500 a month using significantly lower long-distance rate structures. Consultants advised the client to take advantage of these savings well before submitting a formal Recommendation Report.

Consultants also saved AFC approximately $1,000 a month by re-utilizing data T1 service, which had gone unused for more than two years. Consultants ultimately negotiated discounts with new and incumbent local service providers at more than a dozen different business offices throughout the country. ERA telecommunications experts anticipate finding additional savings from future improvements, including consolidating the company’s data network with a single supplier.

ERA Consultants use telecommunications industry expertise and benchmark pricing data to find savings.
