Going it alone

Many clients believe they are diligent about finding the best prices. Nonetheless, industry experts with Expense Reduction Analysts (ERA) typically find additional savings.

Our client thought that by getting prices from multiple vendors for IT commodities (hardware such as computers, servers, routers and telecom equipment; software; and maintenance/ support agreements), they received optimum pricing.

Bringing in ERA experts

ERA IT Consultants prepared a detailed RFP that included a representative “market basket” of the client’s commodity IT items. ERA experts evaluated bids based on pricing and incentives. The objective: find the best value-for-money and best fit for the client with a compatible supplier.

This objective was accomplished by using a single supplier, saving the client both time (no need to bid out each individual item) and money.

Following-up

ERA Consultants organized implementation meetings; will monitor supplier pricing to ensure savings are realized; recommended ways the client’s spend could be optimized to achieve further savings; and worked with the vendor to place new recurring items under contract for the best prices.
