ERA’s persistence helps client manage tooling costs and process improvement

Organizational excellence

Blackhawk Engineering is a leading Midwest contract machining company that specializes in tight toleranced, multiple sided components for the agricultural and off- road industries.

The company is strongly committed to Quality Operating Systems, Lean Manufacturing principles and customer satisfaction. When it came to improving cash flow, Blackhawk turned to a firm with similar high standards: Expense Reduction Analysts (ERA).

Multiple aspects create a complete solution

ERA manufacturing experts worked with Blackhawk’s major incumbent to reduce costs and improve cash flow through improved discounts on tooling and credit terms.

The negotiations included a point-of-use vending solution and consignment of high-usage tooling. Upgrades to the crib software from the incumbent supplier also assisted with process improvements and overall management of the tooling inventory held on site.

ERA remains on the job

As in all ERA projects, Consultants remain closely involved with improving this significant area of the operation and continue to monitor invoices to ensure new pricing and terms ─ and projected savings ─ are delivered.

“ERA’s persistence and strong negotiating skills resulted in additional savings.”
