ERA Helps Nonprofit Manufacturer Save $275,000 on Core Materials

A nonprofit manufacturer, who provides employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, partnered with Expense Reduction Analysts (ERA) to streamline core spends related to the production of plastic corrugated totes and trays.

The client’s objective was to reduce material costs across its three locations in Minnesota and was interested in ERA’s ability to assess relevant commodity market changes. ERA analyzed purchasing across chemicals and raw materials to determine possible savings opportunities.

Using Industry Knowledge to Save 21 Percent

An ERA review found $275,000 in annual savings (21 percent) across the client’s core spending categories, which totaled over $1 million annually. ERA was able to achieve this by monitoring market changes and utilizing industry knowledge to negotiate favorable pricing with suppliers.

Additional Cash Flow Put Towards New Hires

The client was able to use realized savings to both boost their bottom line and reinvest in their core mission of helping people with disabilities find meaningful employment.
